Contemporary Horse Artist Hampshire

Linda Westall - Equestrian Artist

Linda lives in the rolling Hampshire countryside of Newton Valence with her husband and 3 children.

She finds daily inspiration in her surroundings, her horses and assorted animals. Linda has loved horses since she was a child and has ridden from the age of two. Her love of all things equestrian has greatly influenced her art and she is currently working on paintings from wild mustangs to the sport of polo.

Linda works in oils primarily as she loves the fluidity and control that this medium brings to her subjects. She has a real empathy and connection with horses and captures the essence and emotion of these beautiful creatures. Linda travels widely and is always looking for inspiration in different cultures and countries.

Currently she is spending a lot of time in the Appalachians in North Carolina where she has a home. The majestic scenery of the mountains and the horse ranches that abound in this region have further contributed to her art and her style is evolving all the time. She also paints landscapes and has started working on dog paintings as well. Her work is atmospheric and encompasses elements of Impressionism in a strong contemporary way

Linda is very happy to discuss commissions, including horse and other animal portraits, and can work from photos if preferred.
